Belmont Park is home of the Belmont Stakes, the final jewel of the Triple Crown races. The park has the largest dirt racecourse of any thoroughbred track not only in North America but the world at a mile and a half (2414 m).

Belmont Park is a 430-acre racetrack in Elmont, N.Y with two race meetings scheduled annually. It is also the site of the 22nd Running of the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships on Oct. 29, 2005.

 

It has three racetracks:

Main Track: One and one-half Mile, oval.
Widener Turf: One and 5/16 Miles, 27 Feet.
Inner Turf: One and 3/16 Miles, 103 Feet.

2005 Belmont Park Fall Championship Meeting: Friday, Sept. 9 to Sunday, Oct. 30 (38 days)
